A Review on Food Allergies

Hippocrates (460-375 B.C) noticed that cows' milk was associated with gastric upset and urticaria. Galen (130-200 A.D) noted intolerance to goat's milk and Lucretius (95-55 B.C.) observed that what is food to one may be fierce poison to other. Conceiving/keeping in mind Lucretius observation the food from ancient time is being cared for its sanitation to avoid its health-deteriorating effects. These health hazards occur due to varied reasons. And in this regard immune system of a person plays a pivotal role. Allergy is one of the health hazard which is generally regarded as any abnormal reaction of a person's immune system to a foreign substance e.g. pollen groin/food constituent.
