Abstract
Herpes zoster affecting groin area can present in an unusual way. Along with the vesicles and pain it may also present as acute urinary retention. In such case the patient can be taken for surgery for urinary retention. But in such case a surgery is not required as treating the herpes relieves the patient of acute urinary retention. We present such case who presented with acute urinary retention, lesions of herpes zoster and was taken for surgery(trans urethral resection of prostate, TURP).
