Promoting Kitulo National Park as a Wildflower Tourism Destination in Tanzania:Analysis of Media Channels and Gender among Domestic Tourists

This paper aims to assess the promotion of Kitulo National Park as a Wildflower Tourism Destination. The specific objective is to analyze the influence of media channels on gender among domestic tourists. The selected area of this study is Southern Tanzania. This study applied quantitative approach. Survey semi-structured questionnaires were used to obtain primary data from a sample size of 105 domestic tourists. Tools of analysis for this study were descriptive analysis and Chi-square test. Findings indicate that the media channels used were mainly television, friends, magazines and radio. Most females preferred using television and magazines as a source of information about Kitulo National Park while males favoured friends, radio and television. Further results showed that television, friends, magazines and radio had significant influence on gender. Television had the strongest significant value. However social media and exhibition did not have any significant influence on gender. Future research can examine the culture of flora among domestic tourists visiting Kitulo National Park.
