An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different concentrations of IBA (250, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 ppm) on ischolar_maining of cuttings in five indigenous fruit species- Barthekera (Garcinia pedunculata Roxb.), Teportenga (Garcinia xanthochymus Hk.f), Jalphai (Eleocarpus floribundus Bl ), Nagatenga (Rhus semialata Murr.) and Outenga (Dillenia indica Linn.) during March 2007. Among all the five species studied, Outenga registered highest percentage of ischolar_maining (38.86), number of primary ischolar_mains (12.00), survival percentage (40.47) and longest shoots (20.41cm). IBA @ 2000 ppm exhibited highest percentage of ischolar_maining (37.13), number of primary ischolar_mains (9.13), survival percentage (35.69) and longest shoots (17.91cm).
