To operate effectively in international business all managers need to develop an understanding of the global marketplace, as it affects the business directly or indirectly. This compels the organizations to promote continuous communication between their global enterprises. Managers play a critical role in coordinating a business strategy, which can allow them the flexibility to act locally while devoting time and attention globally. To carry out the responsibility efficiently, the managers require adequate competencies which can aid them in implementing their tasks both locally as well as globally. In this article we try to understand the various dimensions of global competencies engaged in the global business scenario. To analyze the global competency requirement of the managers to operate globally we have studied three of its dimensions especially, global management competencies, global career competencies and global leadership competencies. These dimensions hint on the fundamental constructs which can facilitate the managers to accomplish their international assignment successfully.
