Simulation is used for the purpose of studying the real world system. In the research area of networks, implementing many network systems, routers and checking for result is very difficult, time consuming and expensive. Network simulator is used to understand the system. Using network simulator, performance of the network can be evaluated. These are used to simulate wired and wireless networks. This paper presents the overview of network simulators NS2 and NS3.
