Organizational citizenship behavior "individual behavior that is discretionary, not directly or explicitly recognized by the formal reward system, and in the aggregate promotes the efficient and effective functioning of the organization. The frequency, intensity, and duration of uncivil behavior should be a concern to leaders in any organization. All too often seemingly isolated and uncivil incidents like, instigating a joke can lead to patterns of uncivil behavior and it leads to bullying and even physical violence. Many researchers have noted numerous detrimental outcomes of workplace incivility and organizational citizenship behavior. This study insights the relationship of organizational commitment, Workplace incivility on organizational citizenship behavior and how the teaching staff of Pondicherry University as their attachment for and identification with their university. This paper is organized as follows: Introduction to Organizational commitment, Workplace incivility and organizational citizenship behavior, application of this study among the teaching staff in Pondicherry University.
